Advances in Technology-based Education: towards a Knowledge Based Society

چکیده

Teachers using an Intelligent Tutoring System (ITS) to create learning sessions may well experience a cognitive overload, given the twin demands of having to teach while, at the same time, being engaged in learning how to use an ITS. Dealing with the combinatorial of topics and resources required to train instructors by using an adaptive hypermedia ITS is difficult, but we propose the application of an intelligent adaptive tutor and authoring tool with a three level structure that filters topics and resources according to the characteristics of the teacher. The first level allows the ability of the teacher who is authoring a session to be checked according to his profile. In the second level, information about the teacher allows the system to select the concepts to teach and learn, by matching the teacher's ability to the degree of complexity of existing learning sessions and contents of the curricula. In the third level, the system can select, combine and organize only the resources associated with the selected concepts.
